How We Flap helps Individuals

We Flap provides an online community for individuals to easily connect with and learn about Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working on issues or in locations that are important to them.

Individuals can then build networks with friends and other individuals who share their drive and passion, to exchange ideas and collectively interact with the NGOs.

Through continued interaction with NGOs, individuals can become comfortable about the work and commitment of the NGOs, understand their needs, and help them in whatever capacity they can.

  • Support the NGOs, provide them with feedback, ask them questions and encourage them. If an NGO does not have online access, We Flap will get the answers from the NGOs for you.
  • Add your own photos, videos and other content about the city, village or area of development that the NGOs work in, so that your friends and other supporters of the NGOs can learn about the context and environment that they work in.
  • Interact with other people that are friends with your NGOs, and get feedback from them about the NGOs and the work they are doing.
  • Find out the different ways in which you can help your NGOs.
Help:
  • Once you feel comfortable about the work your NGOs are doing, ask yourself how you can help your NGOs -
    • Provide Professional Expertise: Helping NGOs with your professional expertise, can sometimes only take a few minutes or hours of your time. This small effort can be of significant use to the NGOs. For example –
      • If you’re a writer, you can help your NGO write a grant proposal.
      • If you have multi-media skills, you can help NGOs create an advertisement.
      • If you’re an accountant, you can help your NGO fill out a tax form.
      • If you’re a medical professional, you can advise your NGOs on health services training material.
    • Make Donations: Some of you may be interested in donating money or other goods to your NGOs. These contributions go a long way in helping NGOs realize their goals and assist their communities with the work they are undertaking.
    • Volunteer your time: NGOs are constantly on the lookout for people that can work with them to further their development projects. Volunteering your time will provide you with a first-hand account of the issues that your NGOs are trying to address and the manner in which they conduct their work.
    • Build a brand for the NGOs: Talk about your NGOs to your friends and help in getting their name out. This is a very important service. The more people know about the NGOs, the more help your NGOs will receive.
